In addition to being the owner of kbb consulting, Kathryn is also a Founding Partner for ThinkUp Enterprises and acts as the Executive Director of Strategy for an additional partner company, Total Customized Revenue Management (TCRM).
Kathryn Baker has spent years consulting on a variety of projects, from small boutique properties to luxury full-service, multi-unit resort companies. Her previous projects include property revenue management oversight for ownership groups, strategic full-property assessments, training/mentoring programs, and establishment of every aspect of both property and corporate level revenue management. She has been instrumental in implementing a revenue management culture to multiple properties across a variety of high-profile hospitality companies. Kathryn’s focus in all roles is to act as a premier provider of profitability optimization by directing the approach and strategies used across all revenue streams.
Prior to consulting, Kathryn held Regional Director of Revenue Management positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, including the New York City region. She was a part of the opening team for the flagship W Hotel New York and worked to integrate all brands within Sheraton, Westin, and W Hotels to ensure maximum market penetration. She also initiated the role of Project Manager for the global installation of TLPe, Starwood's revenue management solution.
As the Corporate Director of Revenue Management for Intrawest Corporation, Kathryn introduced revenue management as a culture and discipline to the North American condo resorts as the company grew to over 10,000 individually-owned units. In this capacity, Kathryn facilitated several large-scale trainings, including the Destination Sales School and Revenue Management University, as well as designing revenue management applications for non-lodging areas such as golf, retail/rental, and ski lift tickets.
Kathryn works with an "assume nothing" approach in all projects, leaving no stone unturned in the quest for optimization. Working to integrate technology maximization with strategic thinking has helped her find incredible success for clients.
